A bonus for communities

Viridis is responsible for some major waste management projects involving recycling in agricultural settings. In the regions where those projects take place, the company wants to promote sustainable development projects, and to that end has set up a Green Fund.

Viridis’ commitment

Through its Green Fund, the company wants to help enhance the vitality of communities by returning to them a percentage of the income it receives for some of its work there. It is also committed to seeking contributions from other stakeholders.

Those may include business partners (service providers, equipment suppliers), businesses committed to protecting the environment, financial groups, public and para-public organizations, and even regional development organizations.

The Fund is designed for local sustainable development projects that can deliver viable results. Typically, those are improvements or awareness-raising projects, such as the following :

Raising environmental awareness through presentations, tours of facilities and school activities

Viridis aims to serve as an agent for protecting the environment sustainably. Its initiative may even prompt the community to follow suit and create other projects.
