Viridis environnement was one of the proud partners of the 87th Acfas Congress held in Gatineau on May 27th and 28th, 2019 under the theme “A green economy for Quebec: how to operationalize a necessary transition”. The latter was organized by Jérôme Dupras and Alejandra Zaga Mendez, researchers at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO). The Association francophone pour le savoir (Acfas), created in 1923, promotes scientific activity, stimulates research and encourages the dissemination of knowledge. Established in Quebec, it brings together some 5000 scientists from all sectors of knowledge. Three specific themes are addressed :

The impacts of climate change on socio-ecological systems.
Economic tools, public policies and alternative solutions.
Governance models and institutions for adaptive management.

Simon Naylor and Sophie St-Louis, respectively Vice President Administration and Development and Director of Compliance and Process Optimization at Viridis Environment participated in this event as partners and attendees. In addition, Simon Naylor delivered a speech recalling, among other things, the place of the private environmental industry in the dialogue concerning the preservation of the health of our environment. He also expressed his delight at the collaborative research between the pure and social sciences that take into account the economic aspect.
